Therapeutic Indications & Usage |

| |
EBEXID is indicated for subclinical hypothyroidism and euthyroid goitres. It is especially advocated for prevention and management of thyroid deficiency as caused by insufficient dietary intake of Iodine, congenitally inadequately performing thyroid gland, infections (bacterial and viral) Suppressing the thyroid gland, and medications known to depress thyroid hormone production such as lithium, nitroprusside and iodides. |

Contraindications |

| |
EBEXID is not advocated for those allergic to its ingredients, in untreated subclinical and overt thyrotoxicosis, untreated adrenal insufficiency. It is not advocated for management of male / female infertility unless it is associated with hypothyroidism. |

Precautions |
| |
|
| |
EBEXID dose needs to be titrated carefully inorder to avoid consequences of undertreatment and overtreatment with its content of thyroid. EBEXID must be advocated with caution in osteoporosis and osteopenia, cardiovascular disease and diabetes mellitus. |

| |
EBEXID must be coadministered with sympathomimetics and oral hypoglycemics with due precaution. |

EBEXID may cause allergy and gastrointestinal intolerance, especially in higher dosages. The side effects of thyroid (in EBEXID) additionally includes fatigue, increased appetite, weight loss, heat intolerance, weight loss, fever, excessive sweating, hair loss, flushing, decreased bone mineral density, central nervous excitability, tremors, weakness, cardiovascular manifestations, dyspnea, menstrual irregularities and infertility. |

Drug Interactions: |
| |

| |
Concomitant administration of thyroid (in EBEXID) with sympathomimetics may precipitate coronary insufficiency in coronary artery disease. Diabetics may require upward adjustment of their antidiabetic regimen when thyroid (in EBEXID) is administered. Other agents that may interfere with action of thyroid (in EBEXID) include antiepileptics, antacids, amiodarone, contraceptives, anticoagulants, antidepressants, theophylline, thiazides and selective hormones. |

Recommended Dosage & Administration |

Adults: 1 EBEXID Tab daily one-half to one hour before breakfast, or as prescribed. |
