Therapeutic Indications & Usage |

FOLERA is indicated for megaloblastic anemia, and as prophylaxis for preventing neural tube defects in women planning pregnancy. It is also advocated for folic acid deficiency due to dietary inadequacy, prematurity, chronic myelofibrosis, chronic hemolytic states, renal dialysis and in Scurvy. |

Contraindications |
| |

| |
FOLERA is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients, in untreated cobalamin deficiency, Addisonian pernicious anemia or other vitamin B12 deficiency and in malignant disease unless in the latter folic acid deficiency is an important complication. |

Precaution & Warnings |
| |
|
| |
FOLERA should be administered with caution in presence of epilepsy; in megaloblastic anemias it is required to be coadministered with adequate vitamin B12. When FOLERA is given long term to patients with cobalamin deficiency, folic acid can precipitate a serious neurological damage such as neuropathy and subacute combined degeneration of the spinal cord. |

Adverse Reactions |
| |
|
| |
Side effects with folic acid (FOLERA) are rare; it may cause hypersensitivity reactions such as itchy skin, malaise and bronchospasm, as well as gastrointestinal disturbances. |
